Taiwanese freighter distressed, crew evacuated

General cargo ship JIN MING 16 HAO encountered rough weather in Philippine sea off Northern Samar Island, Philippines, and tried to shelter near Pambujan, north of Samar, on Jan 2. Vessel reported water ingress in engine room and asked assistance. She dropped an anchor, as can be seen on photo, not clear if she drifted aground. In the evening Jan 2 all 9 crew were evacuated. Vessel was en route from China or Taiwan, destination unknown (Chile was mentioned).
