How vigilante Algeciras citizen saved their city

Vigilante citizen of Algeciras, Spain, alerted Maritime Port Authorities on Jul 17, reporting “excessive smoke emissions” from a ship in Algeciras bay – it was just a cloud of smoke emitted by engine of container ship MAERSK SEMBAWANG, entering Algeciras. Concerned citizen were joined by even more concerned “environmentalists” in requesting from authorities to do something, and save Algeciras from annihilation. Authorities were happy to comply, and slapped managing company with 20,000 euro bail.
Most probably, “excessive smoke emission” was a result of excessive fuel regulations, putting too much strain on ships’ engines and fuel systems, and crews.
I’d advise ship owners to slap ports with excessive number of environmentally aware citizen, and fines-happy authorities, with surcharge on all goods coming in and out. Let lunatics pay for their “pollution” delusions.
