Industry media attacked Maersk recently, for its’ hyped sulphur cap surcharge, found by shippers as exuberant and in general, unjustified. Not long time ago, those same media hailed Maersk and other major carriers for their social awareness and efforts in reducing this awful green gas emission. Now Hapag-Lloyd is declaring its’ BAF, all in all we’re entering era of finding out the real cost of sulphur cap, said to be the only way to save the planet. Maersk is only logical, it’s strictly business and even more, survival, because nobody knows the real cost of saving the planet, with regards to shipping. Angry shippers, accusing Maersk of being too greed, should get angry long time ago, and not at carriers, but at the whole scam, called Global Warming.
The things as they are couldn’t be worse one may think, but they became much more worse, nevertheless, when new IPCC Report on Global Warming disaster, promised to come in 10 years, was released. The implications of the Report are to put it blunt, devastative – for shipping, for global economy and for humankind – if the Report and its’ recommendations will be taken seriously, of course, and will be followed by respective actions. It is worse than WWIII, though probably, little better than the global disaster, which wiped out dinosaurs.
It’s very difficult to talk about GW scam, let alone discuss it. I am not going to give proofs and facts, proving the falsehood of GW pseudo science. It’s all in internet, youtube is enough to apprehend all pros and cons, just by listening to scientists who criticize it, and to those who back it. And compare, if one’s too lazy to listen to arguments, the opponents. Famous, well-know, prominent and so forth scientists on one side, criticizing GW in their fields, on their grounds, and fishy-looking and speaking, with murky background, proponents of GW, all looking alike with the same “facts”, same graphics, same fear-mongering, same manner of speaking. To convince followers of GW religion, that it’s a scam of unprecedented scale, is like trying to prove to somebody an axiom of two plus two is equal to four, if that somebody was told, by all mainstream for two decades already, that two plus two is ten or five or whatever, it depends on circumstances.
I differentiate GW believers in generally, two groups:
Useful idiots, too lazy to strain their brains (not surprisingly, many of them having a “humanitarian” background), and generally, afraid of being independent minded if it’s against mainstream;
Those who’re either deeply involved into scam, via payrolls or grants or other means, no less profitable, or figured out all the profits the scam may bring to them and their business, including scientists, politicians, journalists, engineers, manufacturers, and talking about shipping, maritime organizations and CEOs of big shipping companies.
Here’s an essence of IPCC proposals or demands, the list of must-do if we want to save the planet:
Drastic reduce of CO2 aiming at zero CO2 in a decade;
Drastic reduce in energy consumption, coal ban;
Drastic reduce in consumption and living standards of each human being (what about the elite, are they going to to change their expensive habits, too?);
No cars, less meat; no private houses; no long air/car travels; personal power consumption cut; moving to big “smart” cities, smart meters – I direct all curious in their near future to the UN Agendas 21 and 30 documents, because IPCC recommendations are in fact, just a general draft of the UN Agenda. UN papers are much more detailed, and because of that, much more frightening.
Shipping sulphur cap is in itself enough reason to panic, because nobody knows how will it impact global shipping and global economy. Will it paralyze global shipping? Maybe, nobody knows for sure. Will it boost costs of everything, from raw materials to consumer goods? It’s guaranteed.
Now imagine what will happen, if IPCC/UN measures will be implemented, even partially. It’s a domino principle – drastic reduction in energy consumption will boost energy cost and costs of all goods including food, consumption will plunge, speeding production reduction, until finally, all global economy will fall into chaos.
They say new “sustainable, innovative and green” policy will create millions of new jobs. Sure, it will. I know how to create tens of millions of new sustainable jobs – just outfit all merchant fleet with oars, as an innovative and absolutely green propulsion. Take a look at the ships fitted with wind turbines or sail kites, at their dystopian, sick images, and read all the appraisal statements released by “innovators”. It’s like fitting cars with horse harness. Living in abundance of fuels without enough fuel, it’s like surviving in winter forest without using wood for fuel, fearing global warming. Eco-friendly renewable wind and solar energy are by the way, a myth, too. It is not eco-friendly and it is not at all economically viable.
What’s going on now, is a worst form of socialism or bolshevism, and if you want to look at our near future, look at latest socialist experiment, Venezuela.
I know the way how to radically reduce personal environmental footprint, to almost zero. In Soviet GULAG labor and concentrations camps prisoners didn’t leave any such footprint, living in barracks, being used as muscle force only without any of your nasty machines, and being rewarded for their efforts with food rations, which doomed them to starvation. At least one third of all Soviet-era GULAG prisoners (tens of millions) died from starvation, inhuman living conditions and treatment, but their existence was by all means sustainable, green and innovative. The planet was saved. Now it’s our turn to save the planet, I guess.
In his famous 1987 UN speech President Ronald Reagan said: “Perhaps we need some outside universal threat to make us recognize the common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.” I tremendously respect Mr. Reagan and his role in the destruction of Soviet Union evil empire, but here’s the point where he was totally wrong. If hostile aliens attack us one day, there will be a queue of people eager to pay allegiance to new Masters, with politicians, “experts”, media and CEOs being first in line, happy to doom millions of their fellow humans to death, if it keeps them in power and on a payroll, even for one day more. “You die today, so that I will die tomorrow” – proverb and way of life in Soviet GULAG. Welcome.
