Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD).
I’m a proud smoker, and don’t want to give it up. I believe myself and hundreds of millions, if not billions, of my fellow smokers, to be persecuted minority, subject to gross human rights violations, and legalized crime in form of over-taxing.
I will give here some facts, inviting you to think them over:
Soviet GULAG and Nazi concentration camps – people were put into absolutely non-human, non-survivable conditions, they were sentenced to die from starvation and hard physical job. A piece of bread could save life. Each minute and even second was a struggle for life. There were two hard currencies, two most valued things in communists and nazi camps of mass murder – bread and tobacco. And nothing else mattered. Bread and tobacco were equal to life and survival.
Russian – Chechnya wars in 90-th last century – most cruel, barbaric wars in modern history. POWs in Chechnya militants captivity could be killed or worse, any time, any minute. But there was one thing sacred for both sides. Chechnya militants were providing daily tobacco ration for each POW, however guilty of war crimes he was believed by militants. Was POW to be released or executed – he was given a pack of cigarettes every day, period.
Modern wars or disaster zones, or hard living conditions and hard work – everywhere without exception, people who have to live by hard and dangerous work, do smoke, in overwhelming majority. Be it US troops at war, or Merchant Marine seafarers, or poor classes of the third world (well, of any world, for that matter).
There’s no scientific study, undisputable and proven beyond doubts, that smoking is one hundred percent negative. There’s no study to prove beyond doubt, that smoking is the cause of cancer – and there just can’t be one, because medicine and science don’t know, what causes cancer. They just don’t know it! But they know, that smoking can surely, cause it. How is it possible? They don’t know basics of the disease, but when it comes to smoking, they do know.
If you dig around in internet, you’ll quickly stumble on numerous debunking stories on falsified “studies” of tobacco harm. Scientists, not once, leaked information on hoax “studies”, ordered by WHO and governmental bodies.
If you look into WHO and it’s history more closely, you’ll, easily, find a lot of compromising – to say the least – materials. So compromising, that you won’t. ever, believe a word of what they say, or trust their actions.
Finally – people who have been walking that very thin line between death and life, get a different view on life, after their experience. Ask them about smoke hazard. Go to war zone, and try to convince people, that smoking kills. You’ll be lucky if they shot you right away, without torturing. Who knows better, people who see/saw death and who have to survive, every day and every hour, or those sleazy fat cats from WHO or governments?
“You ask me what we need to win this war. I answer, tobacco as much as bullets.” – Gen. John Pershing, the commander of the American Expeditionary Force, 1917.
